The ‘Patrones del Bien’ ['Virtuous Patterns'] serie emerges from the exploration of the visual potential found in drawing templates as a graphic tool for creating patterns. Letters, numbers, symbols and shapes lose their original functionality, allowing their inherent geometry to take center stage. Various technical drawing templates are used —tools that were commonly employed in engineering, architecture, and mechanics before the rise of digital programs that have gradually replaced them. These templates (such as: fonts, circles, basic geometry, operations, transport and organization, plumbing, furniture, electrical installations, flowchart, forensic, etc.) are transformed into matrices to generate drawings that share a common genesis but differ in their outcome; no drawing should be identical to another. In the process of this serie, the ‘Notes’ app has also been incorporated as a medium for digital drawings, in which font characters and emojis are used as patterns.
